How the hell does painting stripes on your face make you an “Native American?”
It does not make you a Native American. It is simply descriptive of what culture that style make-up has been derived from. An example, I have a Bavarian alpine hat. I have described it before as a German hat (as it is a distinctively German style and has German writing on it). Acknowledging origin of a style or artifact that you are currently donning is NOT claiming that origin for yourself.
